Dr. Rifkin is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in uveitis and inflammatory eye diseases. She serves as the Director of the Uveitis Service at the New England Eye Center/Tufts Medical Center and sees patients at locations in Boston, Danvers, Cambridge, Plymouth, and Waltham.
After earning her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Dr. Rifkin completed her internship at Sound Shore Medical Center and her ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville, where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed a two-year fellowship in Uveitis at Northwestern University, Chicago, under Dr. Debra Goldstein, and also served as a Clinical Instructor, helping train medical students and residents.
Dr. Rifkin’s expertise includes diagnosing and treating scleritis, anterior, intermediate, and posterior uveitis, infectious retinitis, ocular sarcoidosis, birdshot chorioretinitis, and other inflammatory eye conditions. She is actively involved in clinical research, has published extensively, and frequently presents at national conferences.
A native of Minsk, Belarus, Dr. Rifkin grew up in Louisville, KY, and now lives in the Boston area with her husband, two daughters, and twin sons.
