Dr. Magauran is a board-certified ophthalmologist with more than 25 years of experience specializing in oculoplastic and cosmetic eye surgery. He provides expert care for patients needing post-Mohs reconstruction, blepharoplasty, medical and cosmetic Botox, treatment of tearing disorders, and management of thyroid eye disease.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine after completing his undergraduate studies at University College Dublin in Ireland. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic surgery at the Kresge Eye Institute, Wayne State University, in Detroit. In addition, Dr. Magauran holds a Master of Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Magauran has served on the faculty at UMass Medical School and the State University of New York at Buffalo, authored numerous journal articles, and presented at national and international ophthalmology meetings. He also volunteers with the Island of Nevis Eye Care Program, providing surgical and medical eye care to underserved populations.
Dr. Magauran is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the New England Oculoplastic Society, the New England Ophthalmological Society, the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
